LGV (C+E) HGV DRIVERS

We currently have permanent vacancies for experienced HGV drivers to be based at the following depots:-

A class 1 C+E licence is essential, as is a full Driver's CPC so, please only apply if you have the necessary licence and valid CPC qualification. The roles are varied and involve nationwide delivery and collection of third party products on curtain-sided vehicles and containers. Actual hours of work for each shift will be as requested by your own depot, taking into account all legislation in force at the time, with overtime as required to meet the needs of the business. There are a number of shift opportunities available.

Business Support Assistant

Hours – Monday to Friday

Experience - Business Administration experience essential.

At our logistics depot in Crick, Northampton we are seeking a Business Support Assistant to join our logistics team. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are essential attributes required for this role, as are strong communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with external customers. The successful candidate will have the ability to conduct tasks in a timely and efficient manner and should be able to demonstrate an ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workflows effectively.  Previous experience within an administration environment is essential for this role.

Job Duties include –

  • Provide an excellent level of practical and administrative business support to the Director of Commercial Operations and Development
  • Act as first point of contact for smaller or lower maintenance account customers, field queries and respond accordingly and within agreed timescales, escalating to Director where appropriate.
  • Assist with the creation and communication of price/cost rates promptly for new and existing customers.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with external customers and internal departments by delivering a consistently high level of customer service whilst maintaining the Company’s interests.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new procedures relating to customer/account requirements.
  • Participate in the implementation and development of improved SLA’s with the aim of improving Company margins.
  • Develop and maintain new customer presentations, from pre-proposal data to final proposals.
  • Participate in internal reviews of customer accounts.
  • Accurate input of data onto relevant systems for all new ITT’s.
  • Collate and distribute board reports to relevant Directors.
  • Pivot table entry and exploration of full data set upon receipt from new or existing customers.
  • Ensure adherence to all new and existing processes displayed on Company Intranet (The Hub).
  • Day to day management of Director’s diary and meeting schedules.
  • Implement and maintain an efficient manual and electronic customer account filing system, ensure accessibility of current files and archive where appropriate.
  • Organise conference calls as required.
  • Assist in Boardroom preparation and co-ordination for meetings as and when required.
  • Take minutes in meetings and distribute notes and reports accordingly.
  • Carry out any other suitable/reasonable task as requested in order to meet the needs of the business.

Stock Controller

Hours – Monday to Friday with every third Saturday morning

Salary - Competitive

Experience -  Stock Control experience essential. Ideally the candidate should have a Counterbalance FLT licence.

The candidate should ideally have a Counterbalance FLT Licence and warehousing experience and be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of common computer packages. The successful candidate should have the ability to conduct tasks in a timely and efficient manner. A good telephone manner, clear communication skills, effective team working skills and a keen eye for detail are essential attributes required for this role.

Duties will include:

Working closely with the Warehouse Manager in order to ensure that all aspects of warehouse stock control and administration functions are maintained to Company/Customer standards, whilst also ensuring that all Company and Customer physical requirements are met within the Warehousing operation, these to include;

  • Assist with daily warehouse checks in order to identify any issues relating to stock levels, stacking, housekeeping etc.
  • Ensure that incoming product is managed and stored appropriately in line with customer SOP requirements.
  • Fork lift driving during peak periods plus holiday/sickness cover.
  • Ensure that all products are picked at the correct customer specified level.
  • Maintain the correct physical batch control within the warehouse.
  • Complete, maintain and distribute stock reports on a daily basis to relevant parties.
  • Data entry/booking out on warehouse systems.
  • Administration and overseeing of stock rotation and Warehouse movements.
  • Customer liaison regarding returns and stock queries.

FLT Operative

Location - Crick Depot, Daventry

Hours – Monday to Friday Dayshift with regular weekends

Salary - Competitive

Experience - Minimum 1 year experience preferred but not essential.

At our logistics depot in Crick, Daventry we are looking for an experienced FLT Operative to join our team. Reasonable flexibility is essential as is the willingness to work additional overtime when required to cover for holidays/leave of colleagues on other teams.

The candidate should have a valid Counter Balance FLT licence plus Warehousing experience. LGV licence is preferred but not essential. The successful candidate should have the ability to conduct tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Good clear communication skills, effective team working skills and a keen eye for detail are essential attributes required for this role. Ideally, the candidate should also be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of common computer packages.

Duties will include:

  • Moving and stacking palletised product with an FLT
  • Picking product from stock
  • Stacking product to customer SOP requirements
  • Receiving of good Goods in/out bound
  • Carrying out manual procedures
  • Loading and offloadingof Glass Bottles / Packaging
  • Preparing trailers; including but not limited to pulling open/closed side curtains and fastening/unfastening load-securing straps
  • Load securing
  • Paperwork verifications
  • Communication with managers, supervisors and stock control team
  • General warehouse duties & good housekeeping practices
  • Housing/checking stock from the production line

Night Shift Traffic Planner

Location: Haydock Depot, St Helens.

Shift: 4 nights on 4 nights off.

At our logistics depot in Haydock, St Helens we are looking for a Traffic Planner to join our team. Reasonable flexibility is essential as is the willingness to work additional overtime when required to cover for holidays/leave of colleagues on other teams. 

The candidate should be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of common computer packages. The successful candidate will have the ability to conduct tasks in a timely and efficient manner. A good telephone manner, clear communication and supervisory skills, effective team working skills and a keen eye for detail are essential attributes required for this role. 

Duties will include: 

  • Issue appropriate paperwork to Drivers at the beginning of shift. Ensuring that completed paperwork is collected from Driver upon completion of each shift.
  • Manage Driver activity in order to keep updated with delivery times and any delays.
  • Maintain regular communication channels with Drivers throughout shift and identifying issues that may affect the agreed delivery time.
  • Ensure that customers are notified of any amendments to delivery times.
  • Regular communication with other WH Malcolm Depots.
  • Sort and add delivery notes to Day Drivers sheets.
  • Liaise with Workshop and Warehouse in order to identify issues that may affect delivery times.
  • Update Transport systems accurately and in real time as and when changes occur throughout the shift.
  • Accurately input manual customer orders into the system.
  • Driver De-brief. 

Knowledge and understanding of Roadrunner, Word and Excel systems would be beneficial, although training can be provided.

Job Duties –

  •          Deliver a consistently high level of administrative support to the department.
  •          Maintain excellent communication channels between all internal functions, responding to queries promptly and efficiently.
  •          Liaise with internal functions via telephone, email and system updates.
  •          Accurate creation of jobs on internal systems.
  •          Generate and distribute weekly and monthly customer and internal reports.

  •          Receive job details and accurately input them onto the relevant traffic computer system.

  •          Competent and knowledgeable use of WH Malcolm internal traffic systems.
  •          Entering accurate real time delivery updates onto internal systems e.g. Late arrivals, delivery time changes etc.
  •          General ad-hoc administrative duties such as scanning of POD’s and checking Driver paperwork. 

Transport experience will be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be given.

HGV Class 2 (C) Rigid Beavertail Driver/ HIAB Driver

Location  South Street Depot Glasgow

At our logistics depot in Haydock, St Helens we are seeking an experienced Administration Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities for the role include:

  •          Driving an 8 Wheeler Rigid Plant Body Beavertail.
  •          Delivering earthmoving plant/equipment from our large hire fleet to & from site.
  •          Work is varied and covers all types of wheeled, tracked and roller equipment.Deliver a consistently high
             level of administrative support to the department.

 

Successful candidates must have the following:

  •          HGV C (Class 2) license
  •          Digital Tachograph card & Full Driver’s CPC Qualification
  •          Practical knowledge of moving plant, excavators, rollers, wheeled equipment etc.
  •          A good understanding of the tachograph rules.

 

Preferred but not essential:

  •          ADR Licence
  •          Loader/Securer (CPCS card) HIAB/ Lorry Loader Operators certificate – preferably CPCS/CITB but ALLMI is
             accepted.

 

You should be able to work safely on your own initiative and be used to working on construction and industrial sites.  You should have excellent driving skills and be able to safely load and secure various items of equipment.  You will be expected to accommodate varied working hours including overtime to suit the business needs.  Drivers with a HIAB qualification & working experience would be advantageous but additional training would be given.
