As you would expect of a large organisation, colleagues in the Malcolm Group carry out a huge variety of career functions, whether in an operational capacity such as construction management, engineering, logistics operations or railport management or in a support function like health and safety, marketing, IT or finance.

Some examples are:

  • Logistics Management
    Managing a depot and its human and other resources to receive, store and deliver a complex mix of products to a variety of customers  to exacting standards, including traffic management, warehouse management, stock control and bonded goods administration

  • Construction Management  
    Working with external clients, suppliers, internal colleagues and main contractors to deliver a large variety of complex projects and contracts including surveying, engineering, project management, site management

  • Human Resources
    Help the business meet its objectives through its people, whilst also ensuring our people get the most from working with us. This is achieved through the development and implementation of policies for recruitment, retention, learning and development and reward and recognition. HR liaise with the Management team and employees, providing advice and support to maximise performance and the employment relationship. 

  • Marketing
    Promoting our business to prospective clients, journalists, academics and recruits. The Marketing Department also coordinate and facilitate events. 

  • Finance and Accounting
    Managing all aspects of finance and accounting within the business, including reporting both at regional and UK levels.

  • Account Management
    Responsible for the management of customer relationships.

  • Health and Safety
    Ensuring Health and Safety is adhered to by the identification, assessment and control of risk to employees.

  • Compliance
    Maintaining standard operating procedures, audit materials, templates and official customer documentation.

  • Information Technology (IT)
    Maintaining the infrastructure of our communications, networking, and collaborative tools and processes.

  • Customer Support
    Delivering an effective service for our customers, including all related processes.

  • Business Administration
    An integral part of our organisation is to provide high quality operational support. Roles vary from trainee through to senior assistants, offering a range of support covering various activities such as managing and distributing information, answering phones and maintaining files to the more senior roles of diary management, customer liaison, research and the production of presentations for senior managers.

 

All roles require strong organisational and communication skills giving individuals not only the opportunity to become involved in a number of projects but enabling them to develop key personal skills.

There is the opportunity for entry level support roles within the Malcolm Group with opportunities to move and progress into other areas of the business.
