Landfill & Recycling

Malcolm Construction is one of the leading operators of landfill services in Scotland and last year handled more than 1.1 million tonnes of waste at its operational landfill sites. Presently we have 5 operational landfill sites with consented and operational void of 1 million cubic metres. Additionally, we have over 3 million cubic metres of consented landfill void which is not yet operational.

We have our own C & D waste treatment, transfer and recycling business. This comprises of 3 facilities for the sorting of recyclable materials allowing us to provide high quality recycled aggregates, topsoil and subsoil. Waste is sorted to separate out timber, cardboard/paper, scrap metals, plasterboard, tyres, plastics and glass; these waste materials are sent to specialist reprocessors for further processing. These procedures minimise waste sent to landfill, increases recycling rates and reduces environmental impact.
