The Malcolm Group is a privately owned and highly successful business employing over 2000 people across Scotland and England. Our Logistics division provides supply chain management, storage, distribution and related services to a number of major customers via numerous strategically located intermodal centres, and is the operator of major rail freight terminals, 450 trucks and over 5 million square feet of warehousing throughout the UK. The Company provides integrated third party logistics solutions including bonded and non-bonded warehousing and supply chain management to a number of blue chip customers across Scotland and England. 

The Company is seeking to appoint a Despatch Coordinator at our customer site in Shieldhall.     

This is a key role, requiring continual liaising with our customer’s production staff and WHM personnel to ensure correct warehousing and dispatch of finished goods. 

The ideal candidate will have experience of traffic and/or warehousing operations, demonstrate effective organisational abilities, a keen eye for detail, accuracy and clear communication skills. Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word is essential and experience working with Transport systems such as Roadrunner will prove beneficial but training for such shall be provided. Basic knowledge of HMRC requirements would be advantageous, however not essential as training will be provided.   

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  •    Order processing of paperwork in accordance with HMRC regulations
  •    Complying with Revenue Goods when processing Goods In 
  •    Reacting to production changes and amending loading times as required
  •    Amending and / or creating Stock Transfer Orders
  •    Updating SAP / Roadrunner / Despatcher systems as required  

The above duties are integral aspects of the role, however there are other tasks involved in the general day to day operation of the warehouse which you will be required to be a part of. 

The hours of work are Friday 11.30am – 18.00pm and Saturday - Sunday 07.00am – 19.00pm. Reasonable flexibility is expected in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak operational periods. The salary offered is competitive and will be discussed at interview.
