Our Logistics division provides supply chain management, storage, distribution and related services to a number of major customers via numerous strategically located intermodal centres, and is the operator of major rail freight terminals, 450 trucks and over 5 million square feet of warehousing throughout the UK. The Company provides integrated third party logistics solutions including bonded and non-bonded warehousing and supply chain management to a number of blue chip customers across Scotland and England. 

The Company is seeking to appoint a dayshift Shunter at our customer’s site in Shieldhall.  

A Class 1 LGV licence is desirable and previous experience is essential. 

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a fast paced logistics environment where prioritising work load is essential. Good team work skills, enthusiasm and the ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently are all key attributes required for this role. Demonstrating health and safety awareness and practices is also a key requirement given the safety critical nature of the work that is undertaken. The successful candidate will have a professional attitude, demonstrate enthusiasm and possess a good work ethic. 

Duties will include checking equipment for suitability, shunting containers/curtains in the yard on and off loading bays and applying sealing cords.  

The hours of work will be based on Monday–Friday and weekend work is also available. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate reasonable flexibility in terms of duties and working hours to meet customer and business needs.
