The Malcolm Group is a privately owned and highly successful logistics, construction and maintenance business employing over 2000 people across the UK. Our Logistics Division operates from numerous locations providing integrated logistics solutions including warehousing, road and rail distribution and supply chain management. We operate 450 trucks, over 5 million square feet of warehousing and major rail freight terminals, servicing several blue-chip customers.
The Company currently has opportunities for Shunter Drivers working nightshift rosters based at our Linwood Complex.
A Class 1 LGV licence is not essential for this role.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a fast paced logistics environment where prioritising work load is essential. Good team work skills, enthusiasm and the ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently are all key attributes required for this role. Demonstrating health and safety awareness and practices is also a key requirement given the safety critical nature of the work that is undertaken. The successful candidate will have a professional attitude, demonstrate enthusiasm and possess a good work ethic.
Duties will include checking equipment for suitability, shunting trailers in the yard in and out of loading bays and securing loads.
You must be confident, competent and have good communication skills given the safety critical nature of the work that is undertaken.
This is a nightshift position and the hours of work will be discussed further at interview. You are expected to demonstrate reasonable flexibility in your working hours in order to suit the needs of the business, particularly at peak operational periods.
