Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on plant machinery and equipment
- Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs to minimise downtime
- Assemble, install and commission new plant equipment according to technical drawings and safety standards
- Conduct regular inspections to detect wear, tear or misalignment in mechanical systems
- Perform functional testing after maintenance or repairs to ensure reliability
- Maintain, repair and install hydraulic and pneumatic systems commonly used in heavy equipment
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, including fault reports, service logs and part replacements
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety and environmental regulations
Qualifications/Skills required
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and plant machinery
- Ability to quickly identify faults and implement effective solutions under pressure
- Precision in inspecting, assembling, and repairing components
- Capability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting, standing for long periods of time and working in confined spaces
- Clear verbal and written communication for reporting issues and following instructions
- Familiarity with computerised maintenance management systems and modern diagnostic tools
