Key Responsibilities 

• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on plant machinery and equipment
• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs to minimise downtime
• Assemble, install and commission new plant equipment according to technical drawings and safety standards
• Conduct regular inspections to detect wear, tear or misalignment in mechanical systems
• Perform functional testing after maintenance or repairs to ensure reliability
• Maintain, repair and install hydraulic and pneumatic systems commonly used in heavy equipment
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, including fault reports, service logs and part replacements
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety and environmental regulations
  

Qualifications/Skills required

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and plant machinery
• Ability to quickly identify faults and implement effective solutions under pressure
• Precision in inspecting, assembling, and repairing components
• Capability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting, standing for long periods of time and working in confined spaces
• Clear verbal and written communication for reporting issues and following instructions
• Familiarity with computerised maintenance management systems and modern diagnostic tools
