Job Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and effective management of all physical stock control processes and procedures for all customer stocks held on site. In addition, the Warehouse Supervisor must ensure Health & Safety compliance as part of working routines alongside a fully flexible workforce working to deliver all agreed daily operational targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day to day supervision of a team of Warehouse FLT Operatives.
  • Ensure that the warehouse operation runs to agreed resource levels to meet daily requirements.
  • Ensure that stock is moved, managed and despatched in accordance with customer standards and within customer allocated areas of the warehouse.
  • Ensure that all warehouse employees and those who enter the warehouse are compliant with the relevant Health & Safety regulations, such as wearing correct PPE, daily FLT inspections and safe use of equipment. Issue PSCs where required to help promote a strong safety culture, this should not include reactive PSC’s following a recorded incident.
  • Maintain compliance with agreed customer delivery times by regular communication with the traffic/transport departments.
  • Work alongside the Stock Controller to ensure that all stock control functions are carried out in an efficient and timely manner including FIFO and cyclical counting within customer requirements.
  • Ensure that warehouse employees strictly adhere to customer SOP’s when stacking and loading goods in order to prevent damage to pallets and to avoid shifting or damage to products during transit. Help to promote a Product Safety culture across the business.
  • Maintain accurate records of all stock movement inbound and outbound.
  • Prepare for customer and WHM internal audits.
  • Ensure that all warehouse equipment is maintained to a high standard and defect, maintenance and monitoring records are kept accordingly.
  • Identify any requirement for disciplinary action for warehouse employees where appropriate and report to Warehouse Manager for guidance. Assist with investigations where requested.
  • Identify areas in need of improvement within the warehouse and deal with these proactively, escalating to senior management where appropriate.
  • Identify any specific training requirements for warehouse employees and report to Warehouse Manager for guidance.
  • Ensure full compliance with warehouse staff training records in accordance with customer procedures, alongside customer audits and business cyclical stock counting.
  • Maintain excellent standards of housekeeping by strict adherence to daily cleaning schedules.
  • Carry out any other duties deemed relevant by senior management.
