Malcolm Logistics, a division of The Malcolm Group received a major industry honour at last night’s 31st Motor Transport Awards in London as it was named 2016 Haulier of the Year.

The awards, organised by Motor Transport magazine, are the road transport industry event of the year, recognising innovation, outstanding service, efficiency and quality. Winning a Motor Transport award shows that a business has reached the very highest standards, as judged by an independent panel of experts drawn from the industry.

The Malcolm Group originating as a family owned business in the 1920’s has become one of the UK’s leading providers of Logistics, Construction and Maintenance Services   led by brothers Andrew and Walter Malcolm.

Malcolm Logistics provides a fully integrated road, rail and warehousing service throughout the UK.  Its reputation in the industry is built on operational and service quality and its relationship with clients have been built up over decades.  It focuses on practical solutions for clients and has been one of the biggest participants in the DfT longer semi-trailer trials; it has engineered an extendable skeletal trailer and its 50ft container operated by road and rail delivers increased pallet capacity, for which it won two MT Awards last year.

The judges said Malcolm’s philosophy that: “‘We are all selling through service’ is an excellent example of customer care.” Furthermore, the judges singled out the “strong focus on corporate responsibility” at the company.

Haulier of the Year was sponsored by Volvo Trucks. Television and radio presenter, film critic, and actor Jonathan Ross presented the award in front of more than 1,600 guests at the Grosvenor House – A JW Marriott Hotel on London’s Park Lane.
