On Thursday 25th May, Malcolm Rail was pleased to host the annual Scottish meeting of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Rail Forum (CILT Rail Forum) at the Donald Malcolm Heritage Centre at The Malcolm Group Head Office.

The meeting venue was very well received by all attendees, who were able to see our heritage fleet of trucks which spans over 60 years and offers something for everyone regardless of age. From early AEC vehicles to recent Volvo and Scania tractor units the company has operated many of the vehicles on display from day one.

The agenda was very broad and covered updates on Scottish railfreight, public policy challenges and also commercial updates on railfreight for large aggregates/cement company Tarmac plus our own Malcolm Rail operation.

With presentations from Transport Scotland and Victa Railfreight, it was a good opportunity to see how challenges and issues might be solved through dialogue and shared experience.
